CBJ Battle The New Jersey Devils With Chance To Join The 100-Point Club

The Columbus Blue Jackets (46-18-6) will face the New Jersey Devils (26-32-12) in the second of back-t0-back afternoon road games on the east coast.  The puck drop is scheduled for shortly after 1:00 PM ET.

The Columbus Blue Jackets decided to have Joonas Korpisalo start as the goaltender yesterday in Brooklyn, New York against the Islanders and it paid off.  The Jackets were victorious by a final score of 3-2 in overtime.

Today’s matchup features two teams trending in opposite directions.

The CBJ have won six of their last seven games.

The New Jersey Devils, on the other hand, have only won one of their previous 12 games.

Sergei Bobrovsky is expected to get the start in the early-afternoon affair.  All Bobrovsky’s done is stopped every single one of the 53 shots on goal in his direction in two shutout performances during the past two matchups against the Devils.

However, the pressure continues to build for Columbus, as they literally look to raise the bar for expectations on a game-to-game basis after already setting franchise records for points and victories in a season earlier this week.

The Columbus Blue Jackets haven’t shown any signs of slowing down in the standings this week, winning every game so far and looking to go a perfect 4-0-0 on the week with a win over the New Jersey Devils.  We won’t have to wait long to find out if the CBJ can stay hot…

I decided instead of moving somewhere else, I'd stay here in Columbus, Ohio and start a website that embraces what the 614 (and beyond) has to offer.
