Expectations are sky high once again in Columbus, Ohio. Here are three keys for the Ohio State Buckeyes to once again have a chance to play in the College Football Playoff.
Mike Weber Being A Dominant Presence On The Gridiron
For five consecutive seasons the Ohio State Buckeyes have either finished first or second in rushing offense in the Big Ten Conference. While J.T Barrett will have the spotlight on him for good reason, it’s Mike Weber who’ll set the tone early and often on the offensive side of the ball in Columbus, Ohio.
The Ohio State Buckeyes are better on paper than all the opponents they’ll face in the 2017 College Football Regular Season. If the Buckeyes stumble at some point this season, there’s a very good chance it will be due to a costly error on special teams (think Penn State last season).
J.T. Barrett’s Third-Down Accuracy
Barrett only completed 53 of his 93 passing attempts while averaging only six yards per attempt on third down in the 2016 campaign. While Barrett is highly effective with his legs for a quarterback, there will only be so many times he’ll be able to run away from his problems (pun intended).
