Ohio State Buckeyes vs. USC Trojans: Three Keys To Victory

We’re only a day away from kickoff at AT&T Stadium with the Ohio State Buckeyes and USC Trojans going at it in the Cotton Bowl.  Here are our three keys to victory for the Bucks:

Get After The Quarterback

The USC Trojans haven’t been too shabby protecting Sam Darnold, as defenses have accumulated a total of 22 sacks in 13 games.  However, in their lone blowout loss of the season to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Darnold was sacked five times.

Ohio State’s defensive line is stacked.  Nick Bosa & Co. putting the pressure on Sam Darnold could very well be the key to victory on Friday night.

Red-Zone Efficiency

Both offenses have the firepower to constantly drive the ball down the field against one another.  Expect plenty of action in the red zone on Friday night, as it could be the area of the field that decides which team has the edge on the scoreboard.

Special Teams

Momentum swings are important to every game, but especially when you have two respective conference champions playing in front of 100,000 fans as well as a massive national audience watching.  A big play or miscue on special teams could be what either side needs to put them over the top in this matchup.
