The CBJ Host The Washington Capitals At Nationwide Arena: Look To Avoid Elimination, Force Game 7

There have been several twists and turns in the first-round playoff matchup between the Washington Capitals and Columbus Blue Jackets.  The pressure amps up tonight in Game 6, as the Jackets look to force a Game 7 while the Caps have visions of making it to the second round.

Columbus Blue Jackets Head Coach John Tortorella gave fans and players alike all the bulletin-board material/hype they could ask for in his press conference after a 4-3 overtime loss in the nation’s capital on Saturday:

We’ll be back here for Game 7.

In order for those words to come to fruition, Columbus must of course win Game 6 first.

Why the confidence from Torts?

Maybe because his team outshot the Caps 16 to 1 in the third period.

Possibly because he knows there are “plays to be made” on the power play that’s gone 0-12 over the past three games.

Expect Artemi Panarin to make some noise tonight.  After combining for two goals and five assists in the first three games of the series, “The Breadman” has been pointless in the last two matchups.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have yet to win a home game in the 2018 postseason.  A loss tonight would end their season, while a win would force a must-watch Game 7 on Wednesday night.
