Columbus Blue Jackets Return Home To Face The Dallas Stars: Hope To Concoct A Solid 60-minute Effort

The Columbus Blue Jackets (7-6-1) and Dallas Stars (8-5-1) will meet at Nationwide Arena tonight in the Jackets’ first game back from their three-game California road trip.  Puck drop is scheduled for shortly after 7:00 PM ET.

After a 1-1-1 road trip, the CBJ have a chance to get some home cooking back in the friendly confines of Nationwide Arena tonight.  As has been well documented, the club has had its share of ups and downs and it’s anyone’s guess which team shows up once the puck drops.

Special teams have been a consistent struggle for the Blue Jackets, specifically their power play.  They’ve failed to register a goal on the man advantage in each of their last five games, going 0-for-20 during that stretch.  Things won’t get easier for the CBJ, who will go up against the Dallas Stars and their top-ten penalty kill unit.

Although the Jackets may still be recovering from their trip back across the country, at least they had the day off on Monday to rest.  The same can’t be said for the Stars, who’ll be playing in the second game of a back-to-back after an overtime loss to the Boston Bruins in Beantown last night.

You can study the numbers as much as you want ahead of a game like this, but all bets are off when it comes to the CBJ.  Players and coaches have talked at length about playing more consistently with confidence, so we’ll see if they’re able to put it together for 60 minutes tonight against Dallas.
