The Columbus Blue Jackets back-and-forth season continued on Tuesday, with an impressive 4-1 victory over the Dallas Stars at Nationwide Arena after back-to-back losses on the road. The Jackets will need another 60-minute effort tonight and quite possibly another Power Play Goal to come back home with two points after facing the Washington Capitals.
The Caps are the defending Stanley Cup Champions and their offense hasn’t skipped a beat, as they stand alone atop the National Hockey League in both the goals-per-game category and Power Play Percentage. Alex Ovechkin, to no surprise, is tied for the league lead with 12 goals so far.
The Blue Jackets were eliminated by Washington in the first round of the postseason a little over six months ago, but were able to win two of their three games away from NWA in the series. Long story short–this isn’t exactly unfamiliar territory for the CBJ.
Can Columbus build on Tuesday’s performance and get the W on the road, or will the champs be serving up some humble pie for the visitors? We’ll have to watch and find out.
