CBJ Are Firing On All Cylinders: Host The Boston Bruins Tonight

The Columbus Blue Jackets (45-30-4) will face off tonight against the Boston Bruins (47-23-9) at Nationwide Arena in the third matchup between these two clubs in three weeks. Puck drop is scheduled for shortly after 7:00 PM ET.

With just three games left in the regular season, the Blue Jackets come into tonight’s game holding the first Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference. The CBJ are peaking at the right time, winners of five straight games heading into this one.

They’ve been firing on all cylinders:

  • The top line of Artemi Panarin, Matt Duchene, and Cam Atkinson has registered 17 points during the current streak.
  • Oliver Bjorkstrand has scored six times in his last five games.
  • Sergei Bobrovsky has started and won each of his last five starts, allowing just four goals and registering three shutouts during that span.
  • David Savard has doubled his season goal total since March 15th, scoring four times since then.

Tonight’s opponent, the Boston Bruins, have lost three of their last four games after winning four straight just prior. Their first-round matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs is all but set, so it’s anybody’s guess what kind of effort the Bruins come out with tonight at Nationwide Arena.

With every point of utmost importance, the CBJ will be looking to extend their winning streak to six tonight against Boston. If they can stick to the style of play they’ve shown in the past week or so, they should be in good shape to pick up another two points this evening against the Bruins.
